Description

Hi all :) Joining this comunity for the first time.
This image has been in my head for awhile before I started to work on it.
Ispiration came just by thinking of all earthly powers... Air and Fire, such deadly combination, only in my image they seem in love ;)
Done in Photoshop from a sketch. Used some reference for the Vulcans body.
Your input is welcome!

thats sooo good! How long did it take? And what kind of brushes did you use?

oh yes this may be a dumb question but to me a vulcan is the alien's on star trek. What kind of vulcan is that?

Oo wow.

and I think vulcan is just a vulcano minus the O to give him a name..

amazing job on the lava there, that worked quite well.

I like the use of color! Kinda old school which is cool! Only thing is it looks like Fire and Wind because I dont see any ice ;)

The Eart touches the Heaven here and there are a lot of chaos! lovely pic, amazing lots of details and this is not a "Look at that sexi girl" (look who's talking :p) there is some message (or story at least) here! god job, keep posting we all want some more (thumbup)

It looks nice...though according to Greek mythology Hephaestos (Vulcan to the Romans of course) was the ugly god, and lame in one leg. Not that I'm complaining... :)

I especially like how you pulled off the lava!

Very impressive! But I think the moltin lava and brightly lit/reflected areas could be subtly a little more *glowy*. light usually is not a definite shape unless coming out of a spot light or something. It usually has a glow characteristic of it's source. Lave for example would be a very radiant light source, so everything around it would be a redish soft glow. Try it out!

Thank you everyone for your input... Just to add a few replies to your comments.
kariefury - this piece took one week of work, off and on in between other projects. I used my own custom brushes... oh, and his name.... well, Vulcan seems the most apropreate name for the God of Vulcanos. He has nothing to do with the Vulcan from the Star Track :)
TheMailMan - I'm afread I don't understand why you have mentioned Ice ?!
Steve - Thanks for the pointer about lava. I have to say it was very challenging to paint. I haven't done anything like that before. So, if it does look off I guess I should have study it more.;)

Nice painting :) I love your clouds

Love the clouds, and the way the woman's hair merges with them. The lava-splattered rocks are good but seem to be more vector-like in style, contrasting with the more rendered, soft upper part of the picture. I think you could render the rocky area just a bit more and add more reddish glow to the lower half of the woman, but other than that it's a good image.

somehow i feel that the details of the mountain spoils the picture...the lines on them are showing up too harsh.

Wow love the colouring style, looks like something on a church celing. The mans anatomy is a little off, other than that good stuff, the hair is great!

Silent Lucidity made me want to see more of your work. So my late vote/comment must be present with this image as well.

GREAT - and forgive me if this is a dupe comment (haven't read everyone elses comments). I think that if you cropped the picture so that the V shape made by her hair moving into the clouds created a shape of the same volume as the inverted V created by flame and volcano, the piece would be more balanced. As it is, the overbalance towards the bottom I think weakens the amazing work you've done in the entwined bodies... for the record - I LOVE IT.
